"NHW is a fantastic organisation that brings great benefits not just to the Police, but to our local communities. It helps to make people feel more confident, it engenders a positive community spirit, it is a way of protecting the most vulnerable people in our society and, of course, it plays a key role in helping the police to prevent and detect crime and anti-social b_ehaviour and bring offenders to justice.
I know that NHW schemes on the west side of the river in Worcester are particularly active, not least thanks to the enthusiasm and commitment of Graham Houghton. From the police perspective, we will always try to ensure that we communicate regularly and effectively with NHW coordinators as well as act promptly on information NHW members give us. In the current financial climate, it is even more important that we all work closely together to keep our communities safe and I will do everything I can to support NHW through this period of change."
